Student found dead hours after reaching hostel in Dhaka’s Uttara
Last night, a student at Shaheen School and College in Uttara was killed after arriving at the hostel for classes following a one-and-half year closure due to Covid-19 pandemic. The victim was identified as Abir Hossain Kan, a 10th-grader from Nawabganj Upazila in Dhaka. According to school authorities, his body was found hanging from the window grill in room 701 at night. It is believed that he committed suicide. However, the family of the deceased demanded an impartial investigation into their son's death. Abir's father drove him to the hostel that afternoon.
